I knew once my business was up and running I wanted to be a part of a couple non-profit organizations where I could use my skill and give back to people in some way. The first one I joined was Operation Love: Reunited. Op Love is an organization where a group of volunteer photographers donate their time to take pictures of military families for pre deployment, mid deployment and homecomings.
Deployments are tough. Being a military spouse and having a ton of military friends, I see first hand how tough it can be on a family, a mom, a father and children. I want to help in some way. I obviously can’t bring the loved ones home, although I wish I could, but capturing moments when they reunite, or being able to take pictures mid deployment to send to the deployed ones overseas is pretty awesome.
I met this family a couple weeks ago for a mid-deployment session and I instantly adored them! Dad is gone until October, but mom is holding it down with FOUR kids! Seriously, she rocks. And the kids??! SO well behaved and polite, these parents are doing everything right.
I think Dad is going to love getting an album of these images! Check out some awesomeness from their session.
