Once a year right before Mother’s Day, I offer out Mommy + Me sessions to all my amazing clients in Virginia Beach. The reason I do this is to celebrate motherhood, the children who made you a mother and to remind you about how rad us as moms are. When was the last time you had a picture of you and your child that was not a selfie or a cell phone picture someone took quickly? When was the last time you had 15 minutes of total bonding with your children and had a professional photographer capture it all for you? That is why I offer the Mommy + Me session every year.
It’s tough being “mom” sometimes. If you are like me you are constantly questioning yourself with what is right and what is wrong. In a world full of social media, Pinterest and news articles (because everyone is an expert), its only natural to compare. But guess what mama? YOU are doing EVERYTHING right. You are the best mother to your children, a children’s love is unconditional and you need to remember that. So what you didn’t have time to make homemade Valentine’s this year from Pinterest, that does not make you a bad mom. The fact you even had time to go to Target and buy them gets a high five alone. And so what if you made the time to make homemade ones? Good for you! Even with a busy lifestyle, you found the time and seriously how cute are you for being crafty?!
You breastfeed? AWESOME!! You formula feed? AWESOME!!! You are feeding your child.
You went to your child’s school for their award ceremony a sweaty, hot mess from the gym or just a hot mess because who has time for the gym? Good for you for being able to go to the ceremony! You couldn’t make the ceremony because you had to work and couldn’t get out of it? You are such a good mom for working and bringing in income for your family.
Your cupcakes were store bought? Thats awesome you bought them! Your cupcakes were homemade? That’s awesome you made them!
Do you see what I am saying here? We are ALL in this together. Like a huge mama clique. We are fierce. We are strong. We are rad. And we are mom.
So stop being so hard on yourself as a mom and start appreciating all you are and more.
Happy Mother’s Day to all those mamas out there! I hope this weekend you feel as appreciated as you are. Remember you are RAD!
