Being a mama is the most rewarding, fulfilling, challenging job I have ever been given. It IS the greatest gift of all. Even during evening (and daytime) breakdowns, arguments between my two children, the “Mom, Mom, Momsss”, the “but I don’t want to sleep in my bed”, the “ew, I am not eating that” to the “You are so mean Mommy”. It is the BEST job ever. Being MOM is awesome.
Us as MOM, get so lost in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we forget to just stop and breathe. Live in the moment with our children. We take that selfie on our phone once in a while, a quick grab at the moment we are living in. At the park. The zoo. Your child’s bedroom. In the car. A quick selfie to capture that moment in time.
Us as MOM, should be documented in a special way, because damn skippy we ARE special. And our children are special for making us mom.
When I decided to offer Mommy and Me sessions this year for Mother’s Day, I was thrilled with how many mom’s jumped at the opportunity to be IN the picture…really IN the picture…with their child. Capturing a small moment and bond we have with our children is something special because although that bond is ALWAYS there…it’s not always captured…because, hey, we are MOM and life is busy.
Last weekend I met with mamas who were all different and amazing. The expecting mama welcoming her 3rd girl into the world this summer. The new mama. The mama of 4 children, two being 7 month old twins and I label “superom”. The mama whose husband is deployed and is being mama and dada right now. The mama of the growing boys. All mamas for a reason and all special in their own way.
With warm weather, AMAZING light and happy children, mommy and me sessions in Virginia Beach were a complete success and I can’t wait to offer more sessions like this.
Check out some awesomeness from these sessions and remember how awesome MOM is!
